Granite chimney stacks repointed
About this job
Granite stacks last for generations, but the mortar between the stones does not. On these two stacks the weathered joints were raked out and repointed, and new mortar flaunching was formed around the pots to throw rainwater clear of the top of the stack.
Fresh pointing and flaunching stop water soaking into the stack, which is one of the most common causes of damp around chimney breasts.
